Privacy Policy
frinq is a dating service. You answer a questionnaire, we write you a private read of how you date, and we introduce you to people we think you'll get on with. To do that we handle personal and sometimes sensitive information. This policy explains what we collect, why, who else handles it, how long we keep it, and what you can do about it.
frinq is in beta and is for people 18 and over.
1. Who we are
frinq is operated by Synvesco Ventures Pvt. Ltd., a company registered in India at Gurugram, Haryana ("frinq", "we", "us"). We decide how and why your information is used.

This policy covers our website (frinq.in) and our app (app.frinq.in).
2. What we collect

Sensitive information
Some answers are sensitive data under US state privacy laws. They are: your gender and who you'd like to meet (which can reveal your sexual orientation, or that you're non-binary or transgender); the kind of relationship you want (which relates to your sex life); religion; political views (we treat these as sensitive even where the law doesn't); drinking, smoking or cannabis use; and anything sensitive you choose to write or say in your stories.
We ask for your separate, explicit consent before you answer these. We use them only to match you and write your read (section 3). We never sell them and never use them for advertising.
Information about other people
Some questions ask about times with other people. Please leave out names and anything that would identify them. Before we send your stories to our AI provider, we automatically remove phone numbers, email addresses, social media handles, and your own first name and city. This removal is automatic and won't catch everything.
Information we collect automatically
- App activity: which screens you view, how long you spend on them, and taps. We record this ourselves (not through advertisers) to find where the questionnaire is confusing, linked to your number once you've verified it.
- Device information: IP address, browser and device type. Our hosting provider and our security tools process these.
- On frinq.in only: analytics and advertising cookies (section 7).
Information we create
- Your read: an AI-written summary of how you date, based on your answers. It's an inference about you, and it can be wrong.
- Matching notes: our team's notes on who might suit you.

We do not use your answers to train AI models.
4. Who else sees it
People we introduce you to
When introductions start, the person we introduce you to will see your first name, the photos you've added, the profile details you've switched on, and a short summary of your read. Religion, politics and relationship type are off by default. Nobody else using frinq can browse your answers.
Our team
A small number of frinq staff can see your answers and read, so that they can match people by hand and help you. Access needs an admin credential.

Other cases
We may disclose information if the law requires it, to protect someone's safety, to investigate a Terms violation, or as part of a merger or acquisition. In a merger or acquisition, the new owner would have to honor this policy.
What we don't do
We don't sell your personal information. We don't share your questionnaire answers, read or sensitive data with advertisers. The advertising tools on frinq.in and app.frinq.in see which pages you visit, not what you answer.

If you tell us you're under 18, we delete everything right away (section 10).
6. Your rights and choices
Wherever you live, you can:
- Download everything we hold about you: in the app under Your data, or by request.
- Delete everything: in the app under Your data, or by request.
- Correct something: by request (answers can't be edited after you finish yet).
- Withdraw consent to the sensitive answers: in Your data. We delete those answers and pause introductions.
- Stop optional messages: reply STOP to a text, use the unsubscribe link in an email, or switch them off in Your data.
- Opt out of targeted advertising on frinq.in: use Your privacy choices on the site. We also honor Global Privacy Control signals sent by your browser.
- Appeal if we refuse a request: reply to our decision with "appeal" and someone not involved in the first decision will review it.
How to make a request: in the app (Your data); at frinq.in/privacy-choices; or email hello@frinq.in.
- Identity check. To make sure we're dealing with you, we'll ask you to sign in or confirm a code sent to your number.
- Timing. We answer within 45 days, and may extend that once by 45 days if needed, telling you why.
- Cost. Requests are free.
- Equal treatment. We won't treat you differently for using your rights. If you withdraw consent to the sensitive answers, we can't introduce you to anyone, because matching needs them.
- Authorized agents. Someone you've authorized can make a request for you; we'll check their authority and your identity.
Connecticut residents have these rights under the Connecticut Data Privacy Act, including the right to appeal. If we deny your appeal, you can contact the Connecticut Attorney General.
California residents: we disclose how we respond to "Do Not Track" in section 7.
7. Cookies and similar technology
The app (app.frinq.in) stores your progress and sign-in on your device (local storage), so you don't lose answers. It also uses Microsoft Clarity (analytics and session replay), Google Analytics, and the Meta Pixel (advertising measurement).
The website (frinq.in) uses Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, Microsoft Clarity and the Meta Pixel to measure visits and our ads. You can turn off the advertising ones under Your privacy choices. We treat a Global Privacy Control signal as an opt-out. We don't respond to the older "Do Not Track" signal, because there's no common standard for it; we do respond to GPC. Third parties on frinq.in may collect information about your activity over time and across websites.

8. Security
We use encrypted connections (HTTPS), signed sign-in tokens, rate limits, ownership checks on your submission, restricted admin access, and automatic deletion on the schedule above. No system is perfectly secure, and we can't promise that yours never will be breached. If a breach affects you, we'll tell you as the law requires.
9. Where your information is processed
frinq is run from India. Your information is stored in India (Supabase, Mumbai, and Microsoft Azure Central India) and processed wherever our providers operate, which includes the United States. Those countries' laws may differ from your state's.
10. Age
frinq is only for people 18 and over. We ask for your birthday before anything else. If it shows you're under 18, we don't continue, and if we have stored anything, we delete it. If you think someone under 18 is using frinq, tell us at hello@frinq.in.
11. Changes to this policy
If we make a material change, we'll tell you in the app or by message before it takes effect, and we'll ask again where the law needs your consent. The date at the top shows the latest version.
